Anti-slip overlay for worn-smooth epoxy floors
Comforpox 875 Recoat AS restores the grip of a worn-smooth epoxy resin floor without removing the existing floor. The degree of slip resistance is set in advance by the grain size of the quartz broadcast.
Epoxy resin floors wear smooth where traffic is heaviest. Comforpox 875 Recoat AS solves this without removing the existing floor: we mechanically roughen the surface, apply a coating and broadcast it with dust-free, kiln-dried natural quartz. After curing we sand and vacuum the surface and apply the topcoat, leaving an even anti-slip texture.
The degree of slip resistance depends on the grain size and the quantity broadcast, which we set with you in advance. A walkway used with wet shoes needs a different grain from a ramp used by forklifts. For car parks we broadcast to full saturation.
The coating has a hardness of more than Shore D90, a compressive strength of more than 70 N/mm2 and a flexural strength of more than 40 N/mm2, and is classified as SR B2.0 AR1 IR4 according to EN 13813. The floor is liquid-tight with good chemical resistance.
A textured surface is cleaned with a brush or scrubber-drier, so that dirt is lifted out of the quartz profile; mopping alone is not enough. On an existing floor we always carry out an adhesion test first. The floor takes foot traffic after 24 hours, light loads after 48 hours and full loads after 7 days.
