Comforpox 865 FL-HB

Heavy-duty epoxy coating, also on timber mezzanines

Comforpox 865 FL-HB is a high-build epoxy coating that is also applied on timber mezzanine floors. Joints and screw holes are bridged, leaving a seamless, heavy-duty finish.

A timber mezzanine needs a different approach

A timber mezzanine floor moves, deflects under load and has joints and screw holes that show through any coating. Comforpox 865 FL-HB is built up for exactly that: an impregnating primer penetrates the timber, joints and screw holes are filled and bridged, a scratch coat levels the surface and a strong high-build coating goes on top. What remains is a seamless, liquid-tight floor on a substrate where that is far from a given.

What the coating can take

The coating has a hardness of more than Shore D90, a compressive strength of more than 70 N/mm2 and a flexural strength of more than 40 N/mm2. In the Taber test with CS10 wheels, wear is approximately 40 mg after 1.000 cycles. The adhesion class is B2.0 according to EN 13892-8, one class higher than most coatings, with wear resistance AR1 and impact resistance IR4.

Where we apply this

  • Timber mezzanine floors in warehouses and industrial halls
  • Warehouse fit-outs, storage and logistics
  • Plant rooms and workshops
  • Renovation of existing sealed substrates after pre-treatment

What to bear in mind

The finish follows the contours of the substrate. Differences in level and deflection remain visible and are not concealed. Where more grip is needed, we add 3 to 5 per cent anti-slip additive or broadcast the first layer with quartz or granite. The floor takes foot traffic 24 hours after coating, light loads after 48 hours and full mechanical and chemical loads after 7 days. For a matt, UV-resistant finish we overcoat with a polyurethane topcoat.
