PU cement with a mineral construction

Quartzline PU CEM is a polyurethane cement floor for wet production areas. The system is slip-resistant, strong and resistant to cleaning agents.

Strong, slip-resistant and temperature-resistant

Polyurethane cement combines the chemical resistance of synthetic resin with the behaviour of a mineral floor. It withstands thermal shock, hot water and steam cleaning, exactly where epoxy lets go. For wet production areas in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries that is the distinction that counts.

Two versions, two questions

  • PU CEM SL is applied self-levelling in 4 or 6 mm and gives a smooth, dense, non-porous floor. Choose this where cleanability and hygiene lead.
  • PU CEM TF is trowel-applied and broadcast to slip resistance R11, available in 4, 6 and 9 to 10 mm and, depending on thickness, resistant up to 120 °C. Choose this where the floor is permanently wet or greasy.

What both systems can take

A hardness of more than Shore D80, a compressive strength of more than 50 N/mm2 and an adhesion strength of more than 1.5 N/mm2 with concrete failure. Both are fully liquid-tight and resistant to acids, alkalis, salts, solvents, mineral oils and fuels. At 20 °C the floor takes foot traffic after approx. 12 hours and is fully cured after approx. 24 hours.

Choosing per zone

Around a cooking kettle or a wash-down point a different slip resistance is needed than in the corridor next to it. We determine per zone which version and thickness are required, and detail the transitions so that no joint is left for dirt to collect in.

What to bear in mind

The binder is aromatic: prolonged UV exposure may cause discolouration, without affecting technical performance. In spaces with a lot of daylight we point this out beforehand.
