Renovate rather than replace

A polyurethane resin floor that looks worn rarely is. Usually only the top layer is damaged: discolouration from sunlight, scratches from furniture and trolleys, dull walkways. Comforcoat 910 C removes all that without taking out the existing floor, saving demolition, disposal and above all downtime.

For a building changing tenants or an interior being refreshed, this is also the moment for a different colour: almost any RAL, NCS or Sikkens colour is possible.

What the new finish does

We first refill the floor so that damage and unevenness disappear, then finish with a coloured water-based polyurethane coating in satin gloss. The finish is aliphatic and does not yellow, even in daylight. The surface is smooth, seamless, liquid-tight and bacteriostatic: micro-organisms cannot multiply on it.

Emissions are low and in line with the German AgBB requirements, so the system suits spaces where people spend the whole day. The system is tested on concrete at an adhesion strength of more than 1.5 N/mm2, with the concrete failing before the floor debonds.

Where we apply this

Offices, corridors, canteens, schools, healthcare spaces and laboratories with a bacteriostatic requirement, and shops and showrooms that cannot close for long. Also houses, lofts and apartments with an existing resin floor in need of refurbishment.

What to bear in mind

The floor takes foot traffic 24 hours after the final layer, light loads after 48 hours and full and chemical loads after 7 days. Rubber releases plasticisers: car tyres, rubber wheels and rubber mats can cause discolouration, so we recommend felt pads or suitable protectors. For bright colours such as red, orange, yellow and blue we apply an extra clear topcoat.
