PVC Loose-lay Walkway

Movable walkway for changing routes

The loose-lay PVC walkway marks a walking route without changing the floor. Movable when the route changes and removable when it disappears.

A route that can move

Not every walking route is fixed: a production line is relocated, a warehouse rearranged, a temporary passage needed during a refurbishment. A walkway built into the floor finish cannot be removed. A loose-lay PVC walkway can.

Where we apply this

  • Temporary walking routes during refurbishment or maintenance
  • Warehouses and distribution centres where the layout changes
  • Production areas where lines are relocated
  • Routes you want to trial before fixing them permanently

Why this is sometimes the better choice

A marked walking route is often mandatory for safety, but its position rarely stays fixed for years. A loose-lay walkway keeps that freedom and avoids having to grind a line out of the floor two years later. If you want to make the route permanent, we build it into the floor finish, in colour or with an anti-slip profile.

What to bear in mind

A loose-lay walkway is intended for foot traffic, not for forklifts or heavy pallet trucks turning on it. The substrate must be level and clean so the walkway stays where it belongs. We assess during the survey whether this is the right solution or whether a permanent marking is wiser.
