A driveway that lets water through

A driveway must carry a car and get rid of rainwater, two demands that usually conflict. Terradec 4cm does both. The 40 mm thickness provides the load distribution needed under passenger cars and light vans, while the open structure lets rainwater infiltrate and buffer in the sub-base instead of sending it to the sewer.

The system was developed in collaboration with Ghent University, in response to the demand for a modern permeable surface with a large buffer capacity.

What you do not get

• No puddles after a shower
• No loose stones in the lawn or under the tyres
• No weeds in the joints, because there are no joints
• No subsided pavers around a drain or a column

Where we apply this

Driveways and entrances, parking areas and parking bays at homes and commercial premises, and combined driving and walking surfaces. The binder is UV-stable and does not yellow, so the surface keeps its appearance even with daily car use.

You choose from the Terradec collection of 8 granulate colours; other colours by arrangement.

What to bear in mind

The system is intended for passenger cars and light vans, not for lorries, heavy trailers or stationary point loads without load distribution; for other loads we agree an adapted system in advance. The surface is laid on a flat, compacted foundation with a stable, dimensioned edge restraint, flat to 5 mm under a 2 metre straightedge. It takes foot traffic after 6 hours and mechanical loads after 2 days.
