Waterproof MMA car park deck system with heavy anti-slip profile
Comforpark Deck AMA is Vloersch's most heavy-duty car park deck system: a waterproof, crack-bridging membrane with a coarsely broadcast wear layer for ramps, bends and turning points.
A car park does not fail on the straight sections but on the ramp, in the bend and at the turning point, where cars brake, accelerate and turn on a stationary wheel and an ordinary coating gives way. Comforpark Deck AMA is made for those areas.
Beneath the wear layer is a highly elastic membrane that seals the concrete structure and bridges cracks. It stretches 359 per cent before breaking at room temperature and still 45 per cent at minus 20 °C. On an open deck that moves with frost and thaw, that is the difference between a deck that stays dry and one where chlorides reach the reinforcement.
In addition to EN 13813, the membrane is also marked according to EN 1504-2, the standard for the protection of concrete structures.
The base layer is fully broadcast with one of the hardest granulates available, giving a heavy anti-slip profile and very high wear resistance. Lanes, parking bays and walkways can be finished in a universal colour, so markings are part of the floor rather than a stripe that is gone after one winter.
The system is based on methyl methacrylate and cures very quickly, even at low temperatures. The membrane takes mechanical loads after 2 to 3 hours, the floor takes foot traffic one hour after the finishing layer and full chemical loads after 2 to 3 days. A deck or ramp can often reopen within a day, also out of season: application is possible from minus 5 °C.
A strong odour is released during application and the materials are highly flammable, so in enclosed spaces we work with forced ventilation and explosion-proof equipment and inform users in advance. We avoid prolonged exposure to hot water and drain water through sufficient gullies.
